Flying in from the Northwest USA, take Alaskan Airlines to Portland, Oregon. Then transfer to Horizon Air and fly into Medford Airport in Medford, Oregon. From Portland, Oregon you can also fly into Redding, California on Horizon Air. (Horizon Air is part of Alaskan Airlines.) Rent a car in Medford and drive on I-5 South to Mt. Shasta, California which is approximately a 1 hour to 1 1/2 hour drive. The drive from Redding, California to Mt. Shasta is also 1 to 1 1/2 hours. There are approximately 9 to 10 flights daily from Portland Airport to Medford Airport and 4 flights daily from Portland to Redding Airport. Medford, Oregon is North of Mt. Shasta and Redding.

From LAX (Los Angeles Int'l Airport) take Southwest Airlines to Sacramento. Rent a car at Sacramento Airport and drive on I-5 North which will take approximately 3 1/2 hours to Mt. Shasta.

If you wish to fly to Redding, CA from LAX, first fly to San Francisco Airport then take United Airlines to Redding Airport. United Airlines has approximately 3 flights per hour from LAX to SF Airport but only 6-8 flights daily from SF Airport to Redding. Even if you fly from LAX to SF Airport on United, you must change to a smaller United airplane to fly into Redding Airport. There are many other flights from LAX to SF Airport so check with your favorite airlines. The drive from San Francisco to Mt. Shasta is 5 hours.

Travelling by Train
There is an Amtrak station in Dunsmuir which is just about 10 miles south of Mt Shasta. Their toll free number is 800-872-7245. Please visit Amtrak.com for more information.
